Crafting a Secure Future: Wills

Wills

A Will is one of the most important documents that you will create in your lifetime. However, many people put off making a Will as they don’t like to think about what will happen when they die.

Many people don’t make a Will because they assume that everything they own (their “estate”) will pass to their loved ones automatically when they die. However, most people are not aware of the “Intestacy Rules” which determine how a person’s estate is shared out if they die without leaving a valid Will. This could mean that distant relatives who you may not have spoken to for years could end up with a share of your estate.

Whilst thinking about and planning for death may feel uncomfortable, you should consider how much worse an already distressing and stressful situation could be for those left behind if you died without leaving a valid Will.

At Prestige Solicitors, we strive to ensure that we provide an exceptional service to our clients to help you ensure that your loved ones are provided for in accordance with your wishes.

We can carry out the initial appointment (to take your instructions) either by telephone or in person at our Royton office, whichever is more convenient for you. We will of course see you in person in order to sign and witness your Will.

Timescale

A standard will typically takes about two to three weeks to complete once full instructions have been provided. Time extensions may apply depending on complexities.
